Meet The Team
Originally from Fremont, OH, Dr. Nathan Dixon is the owner of LAVA Physical Therapy and LAVA 24 Fitness in Hilton Head Island, SC. Before he obtained his doctorate in physical therapy at Slippery Rock University, he attended Ohio University and the University of Ohio. In his free time he loves playing with his golden-doodle, Duke, walking him on the beach and learning more about nutrition and wellness.

Dr. Jeanine Russman, graduated Summa Cum Laude with her undergraduate degree in pre-med from the University of Pittsburgh and received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Pittsburgh School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences. She has over 15 years of experience in the field and has practiced in a variety of settings, which has given her the opportunity to treat patients at various stages of their care. She specializes in manual therapy and Myofascial Release for the treatment of various musculoskeletal disorders and orthopedic injuries and has an advanced level certification in Dry Needling. She was born and raised in Buffalo, NY and has lived on Hilton Head Island for five years and has since earned an excellent reputation among the medical field in the area. She enjoys spending time with her daughters, playing with her dogs, hanging out at the beach and various activities on the water.
Lindy was born in the Naval Hospital in Charleston, South Carolina. She attended the College of Charleston for her undergraduate degree and moved onto the Medical University of South Carolina for her Master of Science in Rehabilitation-Physical Therapy. Lindy has over 15 years of clinical experience. She has traveled the United States practicing in every kind of setting with patients ranging from 4 to 102 years of age. Lindy has a hands-on approach and enjoys what she does thoroughly. Lindy is also a new mom and is loving every minute of it.

Dr. Thomas Puckhaber graduated from Coastal Carolina with his undergraduate degree in Health Promotion. While there, he served an internship as the strength and conditioning coach for Coastal Carolina’s inaugural football team. He received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine. He has 18 years of experience in the field, working in a variety of settings and proudly serving patients from ages 3 to 103. He specializes in manual therapy, and is a certified TMJ specialist who is also vestibular and concussion certified. He was born and raised in NJ, where he formed many relationships with the patients he treated over the years. Tom is excited for his future at LAVA PT and can’t wait to meet you! When he is not at work, he is home spending time with his wife and two young children and can be found at the beach or in the gym.
Ashton Saxon was born on Halloween just outside of Atlanta GA and was raised just outside of nearby Savannah, GA. Ashton attended the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, GA where he specialized in Biochemistry, Hematology, and Sézary Cell Leukemia research before he attended South University to pursue his degree as a PTA. Ashton enjoys reading, playing sports, and playing guitar in his spare time.
Mark Bollinger was born in Essex, England (sorry, no accent) and moved to the states in the early 90s. Mark attended Central Penn College where he achieved a degree as a PTA. Mark enjoys hiking, playing with his pup, anything outdoors, and talking about Game of Thrones.
Iris Smith is from the mountains of North Carolina but has called the low country home for over 16 years. She has managed nursing homes and physician practices prior to working at LAVA. She enjoys engaging with the patients and staff with her various accounting and administrative duties. When not at work she is running after her two girls.
Brooklyn Watts was born and raised in Chillicothe, OH, but moved to Hilton Head Island in the fall of 2019. She graduated high school in 2016 with honors and as a proud member of National Honors Society. She attended Miami University in 2016, before transferring to Shawnee State University to further pursue her education degree. When she moved, she decided to move in a different direction for her career, thus becoming office manager for LAVA Physical Therapy. In her free time, she enjoys weight lifting, singing, playing guitar or piano, being on the ocean, and spending time with her friends.
